COSCO SHIPPING (North America) Hosts 2023 Annual Partner Appreciation Reception during TPM

(February 26, 2023, Long Beach) COSCO SHIPPING (North America) held its annual partner appreciation reception in Long Beach, California, on February 26, the night prior to the official start of the Transpacific Maritime Conference (TPM). The TPM is the largest industry conference for the Transpacific trade, bringing more than 3,000 people from the international transportation and logistics industries to Long Beach.

Ms. Sharon Weissman, President of the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners, delivered a keynote speech.  Ms. Weissman conveyed that the Harbor Commission has $2.6 billion in capital expenditures planned over the next ten years and will continue to look for projects that enhance the Port’s reliability, efficiency, capacity and sustainability. Mr. Mario Cordero, Executive Director of the Port of Long Beach, also delivered a keynote speech. Mr. Cordero further revealed that the Port’s capital improvements program is the biggest of any seaport in the United States. The most significant investments are for rail projects to facilitate terminals’ capacities for on-dock rail. Ms. Weissman and Mr. Cordero both expressed that the Port values the partnership with COSCO Shipping and looks forward to continuing to work on that partnership for many more years.

Mr. Jeffrey Ge, Deputy General Manager of COSCO SHIPPING Lines and Mr. Chase Zhang, President of COSCO SHIPPING (North America) delivered speeches at the event. Mr. Ge stated: “I’d like to share that our digital supply chain products have been launched in China first and will be available globally, offering one-stop services, including trucks and warehousing. Mr. Zhang noted that: “As we look toward 2023, COSCO SHIPPING is dedicated to remaining a responsible steward of unrivaled improvements in supply chain stability, security, digitalization and sustainability”.

At the event, COSCO SHIPPING (North America) presented four “2022 Best Partner” awards to recognize exceptional support to the company throughout 2022.  The Awards were presented to key leaders of the Port of Long Beach, the Port of Los Angeles, TRAC Intermodal, and the Agricultural Bank of China, New York Branch.  Mr. Daniel Walsh, CEO of TRAC Intermodal, accepted the Award on behalf of TRAC Intermodal, stating all at TRAC are deeply honored and humbled to have received an award from COSCO Shipping. TRAC is proud of the partnership,  and committed to continue to support our growth.  Mr. Chen Zheyu, Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING (North America), presented the awards to the recipients and stated:” Looking forward to the future, we encourage our partners to work together to provide more innovative, stable, and greener services for our valued customers.”
