Treasury Manager – Secaucus, NJ

COSCO SHIPPING Lines (North America) Inc. is seeking a Treasury Manager to work in its Secaucus, NJ headquarters office. The successful candidate will need to possess strong organizational skills, as well as extensive knowledge of accounting, and finance.

Specific responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Handle receipt, banking and protection of company funds
  • Perform accounts payable activities as instructed by senior management
  • Review company income projections, anticipate expense needs and prepare monthly fund request to COSCO Venus
  • Develop and monitor annual budget for the company and create long-term projections based on departmental needs and upcoming projects
  • Maintain an efficient system of policies that adequately control treasury activities
  • Ensure sufficient funds are available to cover company operational needs
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for all company accounts
  • Monitor and reconcile daily balances with COSCO Venus
  • Assist Controller in preparing finance related governmental reports
  • Report all financial results to Company’s senior Financial Officers

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in Finance and Accounting is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge in use of Microsoft Office (including Excel)

Accountant – Secaucus, NJ

COSCO SHIPPING Lines (North America) Inc. is seeking an Accountant to work in its Secaucus, NJ headquarters office. The successful candidate will need to possess strong organizational skills, communication, and strong attention to detail.

  • Process fixed assets, A/P and A/R invoices

Claims Coordinator – Secaucus, NJ

COSCO SHIPPING Lines (North America) Inc. is seeking a Claims Coordinator to work in its Secaucus, NJ headquarters office. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for overseeing and monitoring cargo claims filed against the company and will report to the Claims Manager. The position is also responsible for accepting, reviewing, and concluding claims and maintaining proper records.

Specific responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Local point of contact for cargo claims filed in the U.S. and Canada
  • Review claim submissions and determine carrier’s liability, if any
  • Conclude claims pursuant to the contract of carriage, service contract, applicable tariff and statute under supervision of management
  • Monitor payment of claims or declinations and sends customer reimbursement after ijos completion
  • Interact with all local offices to help facilitate investigations, sending surveyors out for inspection of damaged goods, and gather all facts related to each claim and assist with cargo disposal when a shipment is abandoned
  • Correspond with the P&I Club, COSCO SHIPPING Lines headquarters, customer, and law firms appointed by the P&I Club to facilitate claims and law suits
  • Maintain a monthly claim report for review by management
  • Identify areas that need improvement in the claims process and make recommendations on claims handling
  • Review new service contract clauses related to claim management, handling, and liability limits
  • Assist other department members and perform other duties as requested by management

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required): Preferred concentration in the maritime, logistics, and/or supply chain fields
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge in use of Microsoft Office (including Excel)

Intermodal and Cost Control Coordinator – Secaucus, NJ

COSCO SHIPPING Lines (North America) Inc. is seeking an Intermodal and Cost Control Coordinator to work in its Secaucus, NJ headquarters office. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for administering vendor contracts, generating reports and other key administrative processes of vendor management with focus on marine, terminal, rail, and intermodal agreements.

Specific responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Support procurement and cost control department in vendor selection process and develop supporting documents for RFPs
  • Assist in contract management and vendor negotiations with various port and inland service providers
  • Support in analyzing procurement and vendor data, producing KPIs and providing detailed reports to management
  • Participate in vendor meetings upon request
  • Develop cost savings initiatives, identify cost reduction opportunities, and recommend to management supplier/vendor strategies for existing suppliers and potential alternatives
  • Input rates into IRIS system and monitor fluctuations in vendor costs
  • Assist other department members and perform other duties as requested by management

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
  • One year of relevant experience is preferred

Specific responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Handling all customer service inquiries/issues

  • Booking requests, changes, edits, container transfers, re-exports, shipment tracking/tracing
  • Resolution of issues with local and overseas offices, traffic and equipment depts., etc.

IT Helpdesk Technician – Houston, TX

Assistant Customer Service Manager – Oakland, CA

COSCO SHIPPING Lines (North America) Inc. is seeking an Assistant Customer Service Manager for their Oakland, CA operations office. The successful candidate will need to possess strong customer service skills, as well as extensive knowledge of imports and the regulations that govern such.

Specific responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for overseeing and assisting with a new account, including daily discussions with account, working with marine terminal and marine operations on late gates
  • Works with staff to ensure west coast operations run smoothly by managing late gates for reefer containers, reefer inventory and other customer service issues
  • Works with customer’s freight forwarder to ensure appropriate paperwork is filed on time
  • Responsible for assisting with any concerns in regard to discharge of customer’s cargo at discharge port
  • Responsible to assist and act as back up for second Assistant Customer Service Manager, as needed
  • Responsible to oversee and assist new account, working with the other Assistant Customer Service Manager, with daily account responsibilities as needed

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of customer service/management experience in related field
  • Excellent and effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong technical and problem solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
