July 2020 – COSCO SHIPPING (North America) Inc. was presented the 2020 Hero Award by Mr. Michael Gonnelli, Mayor of Secaucus, as well as the Hudson Regional Hospital. When COVID-19 began spreading in New Jersey in March, COSCO SHIPPING (North America) Inc. donated N95 masks and made a contribution to the Secaucus Emergency Fund to the Town of Secaucus, where the North America Headquarters is located, to support the town’s urgent need for personal protective equipment for its first responders.
May 2020 – COSCO SHIPPING Lines was awarded a gold prize by NOAA as part of the 2019 “Protecting Blue Whales and Blue Skies” Program for our active commitment to the protection of the marine environment and marine life. The company also donated the bonus to support the successful implementation of environmental programs in 2020.
April 2019 – The Washington State China Relations Council (WSCRC), Garvey Schubert Barer (GSB), the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma, and The Northwest Seaport Alliance co-hosted the 40th anniversary celebration of the arrival of the Liu Lin Hai in Seattle. Consul General Wang Donghua and event organizers presented a 40th anniversary commemorative glass to COSCO SHIPPING (North America), to recognize our contributions to the China-US trade development in the past years.
March 2019 – COSCO SHIPPING Lines was recognized by the NOAA for our outstanding participation in the 2018 Vessel Speed Reduction off the Northern California coast to cut air pollution and protect endangered whales. The program is entirely voluntary so the awards carry prestigious recognition and appreciation from many entities including, CARB, and AQMD, as well as from many California State Assembly and Senate districts and U.S. Congressional recognition. For 2018, COSCO SHIPPING Lines achieved Gold and Silver awards depicting a 50-75% nautical speed compliance of 10 knots or less through specified California coastal waters. These awards placed us third overall for our voluntary participation and conservation efforts in protecting the environment.
April 2018 – GE Appliances awarded COSCO SHIPPING Lines (North America) Inc. with its “Most Improved Suppliers Award” for our performance during the 2017 to 2018 import season. Over the course of four years, GE has grown its business with us by an impressive 474%.
